• GENERAL INTRODUCTION Environmental Conservation Through English Communication

Environmental conservation is one of the most pressing challenges facing our world today from protecting the Amazon rainforest to addressing natural disasters and ocean pollution. In this course, we'll develop comprehensive English language skills while exploring critical environmental issues that affect Ecuador and the global community.
This module focuses on building communication competencies through authentic environmental content. We'll examine the oil drilling debate in the Ecuadorian Amazon, explore the cultural practice of tree hugging and our connection to nature, analyze natural disasters that impact Ecuador, and discuss innovative solutions like Aboriginal ghost net art that addresses marine pollution. We'll also learn from young environmental activists who are making a difference worldwide.
Through forum discussions, creative writing tasks, reading comprehension activities, and artistic projects, you'll develop all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Additionally, you'll master specialized vocabulary, practice grammar in meaningful contexts, and learn to express complex environmental opinions clearly and persuasively. Environmental protection requires global communication and collaboration. Let's work together to master English while becoming informed advocates for our planet's future.
